Humankind is investigated by Andromedans!

This is the story of the earthling David C. Miles, who is taken far away by the aliens into the vast depths of outer space. Suspended in cosmic trance he is haunted by images of strange androids and a huge star digestor. Just before Miles is about to go mad, the aliens send him to a deep sleep, which lasts for 200 years and during which he is transformed into an Andromedan him-self. He awakes as a new creature, henceforth living a supernatural life in the stellar constellation of Andromeda. In the meantime mankind has discovered space travel and makes progress with its exploration of Andromeda – to the unease of the Andromedans who feel that their home is jeopardized! So they split up the former earthling Miles into numerous entities and send him back to earth as a lethal weapon – where he sets out from the arctic ice to destroy mankind...

Zinkl’s instrumental music on his first two albums »No Snaildance, Please« and »Lovely Night Creatures« was mainly appreciated for its imaginative powers, its capability to create movies in their heads.

Since his early youth the keyboardist has been an avid reader of science-fiction-literature – the weekly published »Perry Rhodan«-series was his first passion be-fore he moved on to the classics by Issac Asimov or Robert A. Heinlein. Thus it seemed a logical step to Zinkl not only to dedicate his third album to the genre, but also to conceive it as a soundtrack to an imaginary science-fiction-movie.

But Zinkl turned the usual working order upside down: First he created the music, wanting to be as unbiased as possible. And only then he thought up to a story, which could be illustrated by the music – like a script to the movie that unfolds before the listener’s inner eye.

The booklet with a picture to each of the 12 tracks – a playful game with loose connotations, full of humourous quotes and hints at the realm of movies (for example »Independence Day« here turns into a »Revelation Day«!).

Still Zinkl’s »Plexus Andromeda« first of all is a piece of music in its own right. Its complexity and diversity ask for very concentrated and attentive listening, but also make it a highly enjoyable and totally unique aural space trip!
